The Three Lanes Nobody Tells You About: Money, Media, and Music

I remember sitting in a meeting years ago and somebody asked me what I did for a living.

I paused longer than I should have.

Not because I didn’t know the answer. Because I knew the answer was going to confuse them. And it did.

“I do funding, media, and music.” They nodded the way people nod when they’re waiting for you to say something that makes sense. I never did. At least not to them.

That used to bother me. It doesn’t anymore.

Somewhere along the way I accepted that I was built to operate in more than one world. I’m a Funding Architect. I help business owners — real ones, the kind running trucking companies and restaurants and construction crews — access capital when the bank already told them no. Not because I felt like being charitable. Because there’s a gap between what a solid business needs and what traditional lending will touch, and I know how to close it.

I’m also a Media Strategist. Puerto Vallarta Calendar started as an idea and became a full platform — content, SEO, affiliate revenue, digital products, sponsorships. I’m building the definitive media presence for one of the most searched tourist destinations in the world. Every article, every post, every piece of content is working while I sleep.

And I perform. Neo-soul and R&B, right here in Puerto Vallarta, as the only Black artist bringing that sound to this city. Six-four, bald head, caftan, full presence. That is not a hobby. That is brand equity you cannot buy.

Here’s what took me a long time to understand and what I wish someone had told me earlier.

The lanes aren’t separate. They were never separate.

The music gives people a reason to remember me. The media gives people a reason to trust me. The funding work gives people a reason to call me. One builds the other. You don’t need to choose. You need to architect.

Most people are out here competing on one skill. I’m compounding on three. The business owner who hears me perform on a Friday night in PV and then finds my content on Saturday morning and then reaches out about a capital solution on Monday — that’s not luck. That’s a system.

I run six brands out of Puerto Vallarta. BCF Funding. Puerto Vallarta Calendar. Mark-it Global. UNBROKEN. Changefly. W. N. Walker Live. My office is my phone. My market is global. My overhead stays lean on purpose.

I’m not saying this to impress you. I’m saying it because most people think you need a building, a team, a permission slip from someone who already made it. You don’t.

You need a clear head, a real strategy, and the discipline to execute every day whether you feel like it or not.

I’ve been at this for over twenty years. Media. Marketing. Performance. Funding. Coaching people through trauma and through growth. I’ve built things from scratch, watched some of them fail, rebuilt smarter.

The goal right now is simple: $5 million in revenue, a beachfront home outside the city, and a life that looks exactly like what I designed it to look like.

I’m not there yet. But I’m not guessing either.
